P670HS-G for architecture / engineering and compare with P775DM3-G

Hello:

I´m trying to build a system for architecture / engineering (autocad 3D, Render, Photoshop, Ilustrator, rhino, 3dMax) and the question are:
-P670HS-G GTX 1060 6GB i7-7820HK or P670HS-G GTX 1070 8GB i7-7820HK (both completed with 256GB SAMSUNG SM961 + 32GB (2x 16GB) G.Skill Ripjaws)
-Is the P670HS-G i7-7820HK too less performance than a P775DM3-G 6700K + GTX1070 with the same memory and M2 SSD for the same applications? (I have experience with this model and configuration and works really fine).

Why this questions?:
-P670HS-G with 1060: less power supply and I suppose more battery time
-P670HS-G lighter than P775DM3-G

I´m sure that P775DM3-G (desktop CPU) is better than P670HS-G (laptop CPU), but make it sense for this applications? and more weigth?

Well the P775 will perform better in CPU intensive tasks, some render engines dont use much GPU.
Now it all depends on how much performance you really need. We have plenty of clients using the P670 for the same tasks.
Let me just correct something, the P670HS-G is GTX 1070 and the P670HP6 is GTX 1060 :)
If you need any type of mobility + battery life then the P670 will be better for you, if you want raw power the P775 will be from 15 to 20% faster. If you tune a 6700K it will probably be 30% faster. Notice that the 7820HK is very limited about tuning/overclock and wont allow you to get much power then stock clocks.

    Hi. Thanks for your support.
Please Could you clarify me three questions:
-P670HS-G will perform 20-30% than P755 DM3, but with 6700k or with the new 7700k?
-is there any other difference between P670HS-G and P670HP6, tan the GTX video card?
-in your opinion GTX 1060 could be enough for the purpose described? I also think on P775DM3, but with GTX 1060 ...
    Thanks, in advance.

20-30% more performance for the 6700K (there´s a great price deal in our website for this CPU, if i was going to buy a PC now i would go for the 6700K since it can performe just the same as the 7700K with some small tuning).
The HS version also have a DAC on the Headphones and everything else is pretty much the same, just the GPU change.
GTX 1060 is enough yes, most of the apps will use more CPU then GPU.

    Hi. Thanks again!
The power supply of the P775DM3+GTX1070 is really BIG (330W). If the P775 (6700K) comes with GTX1060 it needs this power supply or the 230W is enougth?

And other question: the P670HP6 comes with a power supply of 200W. Smaler than 230W from the P77X?
    Is it compatible (connector)?
Doyou have any Photo from them to compare size.
    Thanks.

Both models use different power supply connectors.

If you buy a P775DM3-G with a GTX 1060 we can supply a smaller PSU.

I will try to get you a picture for the 3 possible PSUs.

    Thanks for AC Adapter info.

I´ve read that the P670 has a switchable Graphics adaptor. ¿how it works? ¿ do you have tha oportunity to swith te GTX ON, and not to give the system the oportunity tho do it it self? If yes, how much the system will reduce the battery duration?

    Thanks in advance.

You can enable or disable "switchable graphics".

Mode "DISCRETE": Only NVIDIA will be activated, no Intel HD available - This is the required mode for G-SYNC to work.

Mode "MSHYBRID": Intel HD + NVIDIA, both available, in Windows NVIDIA will be activated only when you run a 3D App. -> this mode is for better battery life.
